program to keep track of yur files, books and materials that might be
stored or filed in any of multiple locations. using multiple key-word
searches - Findit! leads you to that "special place" you have
forgotten about.
The "Hebrew-English Dictionary"
contains a large compendium of words found in
teaching materials, literature and newspaper articles.
"Hebrew-English Dictionary"
This tool also enables teachers to:
add additional words,
grammar comments,
idioms,
key-word associations to the
dictionary. Thus, searching on
בית
will bring up a list of words that are
combined with
בית.
The "Live Update" feature
enables the user to download the latest updated version of the
dictionary from the website.
The "Glossary Builder" enables teachers to easily build glossaries for
a specific text, which can then be distributed to students or posted
on the teacher's web page for viewing or downloading. The
glossary can then also used as a base for flashcard drills (see
below).
Glossary Builder
Look up word in dictionary, click on "Add to Glossary"
button.
The program will ask for the name of the
story, page number, etc and enter that information in the glossary.
Or, teachers can use the any of the many existing
glossaries created for teaching classes on Israeli literature.
Flash Card Builder
Utilizing the "Flash Card Builder",
teachers can prepare customized lists of vocabulary words from
glossaries created with the "Glossary Builder" (see above).
Students can then use the
flashcard words to drill on using the
flash card software
included in the software for Hebrew for
Americans.
With
the "Flash Card Audio Lister" you can determine which words, if
any, need audio.
Flash cards - programs
Existing flashcard decks are matched to the content of several
textbooks. You have your choice of books.
Or use a
customized list as described above.
All have four learning levels, thus allowing students to:
Preview the words,
Do a matching exercise by dragging the English word to the
correct Hebrew word,
Choose the option of typing in the English translation of the Hebrew
word,
Or, choose the option of typing in the Hebrew translation of the
English word.
